From Burnout to Balance: My Journey with Brisbi

By Tunde, 35

As a father of two and a software engineer, I’ve always been the “strong one” — the provider, the fixer, the calm in every storm. But in early 2025, I burned out.
Badly.

I was irritable, emotionally numb, and constantly exhausted. Therapy was too expensive, and I didn’t want to rant on social media. So I just… kept going.

One night, I saw a post about Brisbi. The idea of emotional check-ins intrigued me, so I downloaded it, not expecting much.

What I found was different from anything I’d tried.

Brisbi didn’t tell me to “think positive.”
It asked me how I really felt. And when I said “numb,” it didn’t flinch — it responded with quiet understanding. I was guided to a 2-minute breathing exercise, followed by a short journal prompt that cracked something open in me.

Over the next few weeks, I started showing up for myself.

  • I journaled every morning.
  • I helped others in my pod — which strangely helped me more.
  • I earned Life Coins and used them to access a free one-on-one coaching session.

Today, I still have bad days. But I’m no longer carrying them alone.
Brisbi reminded me that healing is a habit — not a finish line.
